About the position
We are looking for Sprinkler Fitter(s) to join our Sprinkler Construction Division full-time. As a Sprinkler Fitter, you will install, service, and repair Fire Protection Sprinkler Systems with a focus on new construction and tenant improvements (commercial and multi-unit residential).
Key Responsibilities
- Reading and interpreting blueprints, evaluating plans diagrams, specifications, schematics, and operational/product manuals in relation to work to be completed.
- Preparing take offs of material and labour requirements for work scopes.
- Assigning work to team members on site based on individual competencies as well as work scope and materials requirements.
- Liaising with clients along with, on-site supervision to ensure high levels of customer service and effective communication.
- Ensuring preparation and ordering of stock materials for execution of assigned daily work orders and optimizing material utilization.
- Examining and inspecting work progress, equipment, and worksites to ensure client specifications are met.
- Ensuring all work is executed using safe work practices and safety leadership is demonstrated in all aspects of the job.
- Completing daily reports of completed work orders and activities.
- Training and mentoring other team members including apprentices and field service labour.
- Performing in-field sprinkler commissioning, inspections, troubleshooting, repairs, and maintenance and on systems to including fire sprinkler wet systems, fire sprinkler dry systems, fire sprinkler pre-action systems, fire pumps, fire hydrants, backflow preventers and special hazard systems.
Qualifications
- Journeymen Sprinkler Fitting ticket.
- Have or willing to obtain ASTTBC RFPT endorsements.
- Experience installing and servicing sprinkler systems and associated piping.
- Great customer service skills.
- Ability to work well independently and as part of a team.
- Detail oriented and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be self-motivated, resourceful, and proactive.
- Must have excellent English communication skills (verbal and written) and a positive friendly attitude.
- Able to work 40hrs per week (overtime and on-call rotation as needed).
- Must have a valid BC Drivers License.
